Safety Symposium 2022: Piloting 2 Wellbeing
Mental health and emotional wellbeing are important at every stage of life. It affects how we behave and helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make decisions.
Please join the Kent State University College of Aeronautics and Engineering for the 2022 Safety Symposium featuring Captain Reyné O’Shaughnessy and learn how you can contribute to a safer aviation sector while meeting the challenges of being in a high-pressure, high-performance environment.
This symposium will feature Captain Reyné O’Shaughnessy, commercial airline pilot for over 34 years, and founder of Piloting 2 Wellbeing, dedicated to contributing to a safer aviation sector based on the concept that the way we live our lives directly affects our health, wellbeing, and how we meet the challenges of being in a high-pressure, high-performance environment like aviation.
Captain O’Shaughnessy, also known as Captain O’, had dedicated her career to aviation. She’s well aware of the stressors, as well as the rewards, of being in such a high-stress, high-performance environment. As a result, she authored This is Your Captain Speaking, and has faithfully pursued both aviation excellence and the latest innovations in wellbeing.
The College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE) believes in the importance of developing our students as a whole person. By working with students to develop both the professional skills needed to fly and operate aircraft, as well as their power skills, formally known as ‘soft skills’, the next generation of the aviation workforce will be better equipped to navigate the ever-evolving challenges of the 21st century.
