Description

Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center’s ALS Center recently became only the second New Jersey hospital to achieve status as an ALS Association (ALSA) Certified Treatment Center of Excellence from the Association’s National Office and the Greater Philadelphia Chapter. Among other criteria, achieving this status means that the center consists of a multidisciplinary team of nursing and allied health professionals assigned to this patient population; a neurologist with the specific knowledge base to evaluate and treat people living with this disease and active involvement in ALS-related clinical research. ALSA officials presented the ALS Center team with a plaque on March 31 during a commemorative program. From left, is Jeff Cline, executive director, ALSA; Mary Sedarous, M.D., ALS Center medical director; Brian Walch, vice president, Clinical Services/Operations, and Steve Spaulding, director of Care Services for the ALSA Greater Philadelphia Chapter. For more information about the center, or to make an appointment, call 732-776-3307 and select option 1.
