Press release from Portland Fire & Rescue:
March 17, 2022
Crews responded to a report of a home on fire just before 1:30 am this morning at 2416 N Flint Ave. PPB arrived prior to fire crews and found a female standing on the roof covering the front of the house.
PPB officers attempted to help her down but the distance was too far and they advised her that fire crews were close. There were heavy smoke conditions and the fire crew that placed the ladder to the victim was only able to see her legs dangling below the roofline. They were able to quickly help her down the ladder and AMR transported her to Emanuel Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.
After an initial fire attack and search for victims, the fire reached the attic space and burned through the roof. At this point, crews withdrew from the structure until the attic space could be extinguished. Once the flames were brought under control crews were able to reenter the structure and do a secondary search, they did not find anyone inside during this search.
