Description
MARIETTA, GA — MUST Ministries' new homeless shelter is now ready to open to the public, and the nonprofit is hosting a public housewarming this weekend to celebrate.
On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., MUST Ministries will be showcasing its new $16 million, nearly 44,000-square-foot shelter called MUST Hope House at 1297 Bells Ferry Road.
The two-story shelter offers 136 beds, 36 "respite beds" for inclement weather and other emergencies, a chapel, dining hall, kitchen, rooftop family area, playground, medical clinic and a clothing boutique, the Marietta Daily Journal reported.
The shelter will also offer areas for outreach services such as case management, restrooms, showers and job assistance.
As part of the public housewarming — likely the only time the public can come tour the new homeless shelter due to privacy concerns — MUST Ministries is asking visitors to bring donations for their "Move-In Kits," if they desire. The kits are given to clients when leaving the shelter and heading for stable housing.
