UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A bank on a busy Upper East Side corner was robbed on Thursday by a man who walked in and demanded cash, according to police. The robbery happened just before noon, when the unidentified man in his 40s or 50s walked into the Chase Bank at 147 East 86th St., on the corner of Lexington Avenue. He passed a note to an employee demanding money, and was ultimately given an unspecified amount of cash, an NYPD spokesperson said. He fled the bank, and no arrests have been made. Police said the man was wearing a gray jacket, blue jeans and camouflage sneakers. There were no reported injuries. Banks along the busy 86th Street corridor have been targeted by robbers before, including a previous Chase location near the same intersection in 2017, and a Citibank across the street near Park Avenue in December.
