My "friend" screwed us over

My friend screwed us over, without going into a ton of details I can say that my family is now in a rut and don't know where to turn to. We helped a friend move his lover down from up north and used our entire food budget on the trip to and from. We were told we'd be reimbursed and that hasn't happened. We are now currently sitting at home with a few food pantry staples but nothing an autistic 11 year old will eat. They've offered no help or solutions to the problem and I'm at a loss.... Can anyone please help us? We're in KPT.
