Photographer for Redwood Elopements

Events

Eureka CA

Description

Well established elopement wedding business seeks to add another wedding photographer to our north-coast lineup. Our timetable is, now! See www.blueskyelopements to find out more about us. This is a once or twice a month gig photographing eloping couples in beautiful outdoor settings ranging from Avenue of the Giants in the south to Prairie Creek Redwoods SP in the north. Your availability for an event is determined by text which requires a one-hour response time. There is no guaranteed event volume and you are free to accept or decline any booking as offered. Legally you are an independent contractor which is outlined in the contract signed between us, we will file a 1099 for you at the end of each tax year. Our agreement is non-exclusive. Your scope of work includes an initial and final pre-event check in call with the couple (about ten minutes per call), photographing the event and finishing the file development. Comp. is a minimum of $1,150 for a two-hour gig and varies by location and shooting time; you are paid in full upon delivery and acceptance of files for review no later than 20-days post event. We pay at the high end of industry comp rates for contract photography and in twenty years, we have never missed payroll. We do all the selling, client consulting, money and contracts, event coordination, etc. The Blue Sky client Service Agreement can't cover all likely scenarios of your trade so we recommend that you have clients sign your own "white label" service contract so all the specifics are covered. You maintain your own copyrights and may use client images for your own marketing efforts unless clients request "no public release of images." You may NOT share client images with other vendors at any time. Clients have unlimited reproduction rights to images which are supplied watermark-free. RAW files remain the sole exclusive property of the content creator and are never released to clients. You'll need reliable transportation, solid internet / cell service and have respect for the job and for the clients and their guests. Dress is clean and casual, no dungarees, open toed shoes, baseball caps, etc. You must be comfortable photographing same-sex unions. Ideally you would have five+ years experience with event / wedding photography including the basics of client posing. but happy to discuss a trial shoot with a less experienced photographer who is eager to progress. Finished files as delivered for review should closely match the branded "Blue Sky Elopement" look as seen on our website. You must have off-camera lighting equipment with softbox or umbrellas to use in the woods when appropriate in low ambient light situations; on-camera lighting is never acceptable. A positive attitude, being open to peer review of your work and to new techniques and methods is assumed. We have several "couples" teams in our lineup where one party does the photography and the other acts as wedding officiant. That works out amazingly well as you receive a double booking with every event. If your partner has considered wedding officiating, we can train them.
