CONSTRUCTION LABORERS & FOREMAN Duties & Responsibilities; Assist in the installation & maintenance of waterfeatures and landscape plantings with an award winning waterfeature company serving the northern NJ area.. NO GRASS CUTTING! You will be taught the proper way to design, install & maintain waterfeatures. Opportunity for advancement within the company & pay rate increases. You will assist in the excavation of the waterfeature, hook up plumbing on the waterfeature, install liner & underlayment, assist in placing rock & gravel in waterfeature, install aquatic plants, wash rock & gravel of dirt & debris, trim & hide liner, install underwater lighting, thoroughly clean up jobsite. Installation of landscape plants & other landscape materials. Assist with the loading & unloading of trucks & trailer with products, equipment & tools. Perform waterfeature clean outs as needed & to the company’s standards. Communicate with clients in a friendly & helpful manner. Report maintenance issues with equipment/trucks/tools to owner Keep truck/trailer and construction areas neat & organized. Maintain & keep correct inventory of tools needed for jobs. Drive pick- up trucks. Comply with company safety policy, procedures & practices. Special projects as requested. Ready & willing to do other tasks as needed. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Mature – Reliable – Organized – Honest – Detail Oriented. Ideal candidate will be polite, creative, self motivated, able to follow directions, pay attention to details, & a team player. Must be 18 years or older. Social Security card or work authorization permit required. Valid & CLEAN NJ drivers license. Available to work Monday – Friday 7:00am – 5:00pm & Saturdays as needed. (Start & end times may change as needed due to weather and/or travel to jobs) Must have own reliable transportation to & from work. Able to lift up to 55lbs throughout the work day. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel & squat throughout the work day. Willing to get hands dirty & work outside under adverse weather conditions. Safety conscious. Good communication skills – must be able to read, write & speak English Prior experience in landscape construction and running a crew (minimum 2 years verifiable experience) Drive NON CDL truck & trailer combination.required for anyone applying for foreman position. PLUSES Experience operating skidsteers, mini excavators & other equipment. Knowledge of waterfeature industry. Building & Maintaining eco-system based waterfeatures. Experience in Landscape Plantings – Knowledge of plant names Experience in Bluestone patios & walkways installation. Experience in Natural Rock retaining wall installation. (Boulders and stack stone) Use Transit & set grades. Willing to participate in company events as needed. Willing to attend educational seminars & events to further your education & abilities.
