Do you shop at Farmers Markets? Have you ever wanted to learn what being a vendor at a market is all about? Do you enjoy connecting with several people throughout the course of the day? Do you enjoy helping others? Do you prefer to be working by yourself and being able to put your personality into your craft? We’re seeking a Customer Service / Salesperson, or as we say in our line of work, a Cheesemonger, who can effectively build new and expand current customer relationships selling our cheese at farmers' markets throughout Michigan. We support our mongers (sales/customer service team) with the equipment, training, management, and competitive compensation to set you up for great success. Job seekers should be motivated self-starters with superior communications, customer service, and interpersonal skills. We're looking to add some part-time staff w/ the potential to work up to full-time to our seasonal business - about 2-4 days, and around 30 - 40 hours total per week. Saturdays are expected to be one of the 2-4 days of work. The season is May - October. If you are looking to try something new and work outside at farmers' markets, we want to chat with you! Responsibilities Enthusiastically sell our Fromage (cheese) at our farmer's markets Work outside in the elements of nature Drive 1-2 hours to your certain market - don't worry! A company van will be provided for you Be meticulous about health and food codes Have fun while working in the great outdoors Qualifications Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Driven, enthusiastic, confident, and highly motivated Must have a valid Driver’s License – with a good driving record Availability on Saturdays Be able to lift heavy objects, up to 50lbs Work independently and have great customer service skills Must be at least 18 years old Compensation $15 - $20 hourly + commission About The Cheese People of Grand Rapids We are a small company based in Grand Rapids that sells award-winning cheeses at farmers' markets throughout Michigan.
