This is a once or twice a month gig marrying eloping couples in beautiful outdoor settings around Telluride. There is no guaranteed event volume and you are free to accept or decline any booking offered. You must be comfortable with performing same-sex unions. Your scope of work includes an initial and final pre-event check in call with the couple (about five minutes per call), delivery of the ceremony based on one of our pre-written scripts and responsibility for ensuring the marriage license is executed and filed correctly. Comp. is a minimum of $300 and varies by location; you are paid in full two weeks prior to the event via direct deposit to your bank. Your availability for an event is determined by text which you can accept or decline. We do all the selling, client consulting, money and contracts, event coordination, etc. You absolutely must be personable, comfortable speaking in front of all types of people, have reliable transportation, a computer with solid internet service and basic computer skills, and have respect for the job and for the clients and their guests. Dress is clean and casual, no dungarees, open toed shoes, baseball caps, etc. We would prefer someone with experience, however we will train if you are the right candidate and are planning on staying in the area long term. You are responsible for obtaining an ordination from one of the usual on-line sources, at your own cost. There is no "exclusive" or non-compete clause in the contract. We have several "couples" teams in our lineup where one party does the photography and the other acts as wedding officiant. That works out amazingly well as you receive a double booking with every event. Worth thinking about!
