We are looking for a new Worship Leader to join our ministry team! We are seeking someone who is creative and has a basic knowledge of music as well as the ability to play an instrument. We are a multigenerational congregation with a diverse group of people and we wish to maintain a blended worship style, with a fair mix of hymns and contemporary praise and music. Open Table UMC is a welcoming, inclusive church community that is passionate about social justice and who seeks to reflect the diversity of our community in our staffing. We are seeking to hire someone who shares our vision of being inclusive and welcoming for this position. The staff is supportive and collaborative in nature. Open Table UMC is located in the historic Oakwood area of Raleigh. Job Requirements and Responsibilities • A commitment to a welcoming, inclusive, affirming space • Proficiency in leading worship • Ability to play an instrument • Coordinate musicians and singers • Ability to learn or some basic knowledge of technology to assist with running Sunday services • Participate in the planning and implementation of church programs • Work with the Pastor to imagine what worship will and can look like • Creative and collaborative in nature • A willingness to learn about Methodist liturgy and worship if you do not already have that knowledge • Work will be 10 hours a week with possibility of future growth and a starting salary of 10,000/year. Sunday mornings are necessary with other working hours flexible. Great opportunity for music student or professor. No commitment required.
