This class/Workshop is for persons looking for a license to apply Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) on Natural Areas in Florida. The Natural Areas Pesticide License: Is for a pesticide applicator that use herbicides to control vegetation to protect natural communities and ecosystems in natural areas. Instructor: Luis O. Rodriguez, Small Farms and Pesticide Education Extension Agent, Polk County. CEUs will be provide at the end of the class Agenda 8:00 am Introduction 8:10 am Licensing of Right-of-way Pest Control Applicators in Florida 8:30 am Integrated Vegetation Management (IVM) 8:50 am Pest Plants of Right-of-Way 9:10 am Herbicides, Plants, and soils 9:30 am Break 9:40 am Herbicide Technology 10:00 am Integrated Vegetation Management (IVM) Sites 10:20 am Application Equipment 10:50 am Equipment Calibration and Site Measurements 11:30 am Problems Managers Face 11:50 pm Evaluation and review 12:00 pm Lunch 1:00pm – 3:00 pm Testing (First session) 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm Testing (Second session) Note If you wish to get the test the same day of the training you will have to get a voucher number before attending to the class.
