Our work environment includes: Relaxed atmosphere Casual work attire On-the-job training The Cheese People of Grand Rapids Cheese Sales Person / Cheesemonger (Seasonal) The Cheese People of Grand Rapids is seeking a few enthusiastic persons to join our team for the summer of 2022. We are a small company based in Grand Rapids that sells award-winning cheeses at farmers markets throughout Michigan. As a cheese monger you will oversee selling and providing knowledge on an array of cheeses to customers at farmers markets, while being meticulous to the food code requirements. We are looking for people that are passionate, with lots of enthusiasm, and an eagerness to connect with people. Pay is typically $15 - 20 + per hour. Wage is based on Hourly + Commission. Availability on Saturdays are required & 2-3 other days throughout the week, about 20 - 30 hours per week. Each day of work is about 10 hours. This position is seasonal from May – October. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Driven, enthusiastic, confident, and highly motivated. - High attention to detail and ability to multitask. - Knowledge of cheeses not required but preferred Job Requirements: - Be available to stand for long hours at a time. - Must have a valid Driver’s License – with a good driving record. - Availability on weekends, Saturdays especially. - Be able to lift heavy objects, up to 50#. - Work independently and have great customer service skills. - Must be at least 18 years old.
