Join us for Wildfire Community Preparedness Day!
Concerned about wildfire and smoke? On May 7, gather with your neighbors to learn about fire preparedness, air quality, and forest health. Snohomish Conservation District is hosting an educational workshop with presentations from University of Washington, Snohomish County, Washington Department of Natural Resources and Glacier Peak Institute.
You’ll learn about:
Current local efforts to address emergency preparednessWestern vs Eastern fire ecologyThe negative impacts of outdoor burningCreating defensible space for your propertyNew wood chipping programThe Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management will also be presenting their Community Wildfire Protection Plan for public feedback.
There will be a 20 minute break in the middle of the session! Snacks will be provided.
