Omnium Outdoors Running Series: Marathon Sunday 5k Warm-Up

Join us for a short run on our favorite mixed-use path in the city as we cheer on all the marathoners that will be prepping for the big race The Minuteman Bikeway is a terrific ten-mile stretch of mixed-use path that winds through the woods from Cambridge to Bedford, MA. It's as un-city-like as a long trail this close to the city will get, making it a popular spot to warm-up for the Boston Marathon. We're going to run (or walk) alongside some of the world's best and cheer them on! Starting from the Thorndike Parking Lot, our runners will head up the Bikeway a little over 2 miles to a turnaround point from which they'll return to the Kickstand Café for light fare post-run. There will be a guide for the running group and a separate walking group that will do a shorter route. As a cooldown, we will all walk back to the Thorndike Parking Lot together. All proceeds from this event go toward helping those living with a mental illness. This event is free to members of the Omnium Outdoors Adventure Club (For $50/year, gain unlimited access to 14+ guided outdoor events like this one while supporting the Omnium mission of advancing mental health through fitness and outdoor activity! This event is pre-registration only. Start time is 10:00am on Sunday, April 17, 2022. Check-in will be open from 9:30-9:55am. Please bring your own food and water for the day along with proper footwear and clothing for the weather. Omnium Outdoors will be providing any assistance a runner may need including first aid, technical questions, or even motivation.
