Join us at our inaugural Watering Our Roots Series. This series will feature local leaders in the community, history, food, and activities. Honoring Black Stories, a cultural and educational tourism company, is introducing it's Watering Our Roots Series. In partnership with the Midway Community Garden, this particular series theme is food stories. Honoring Black Stories’ goal is to educate and engage communities with these experiences. It will take place over the span of 5 Friday evenings from 6-7 pm starting April 8.. Specific topics include the power of a seed, resourcing food, nutrition, and food through words and art. They will feature guest speakers such as Jim Embry of Sustainable Community Networks and Ashley Smith of BlackSoil: Our Better Nature. There will also be stories, food, merchandise, and activities. This event is free to the public. We will wrap up our series by harvesting our food and a performance from the ARK band!
