Great role for recent graduate looking for a seamless transition to post grad life in NYC Link to application >>> We are looking for a recent graduate for a live-in nanny / mother’s help role with our family in Brooklyn Heights. We have two daughters who will be nine and ten then and a mixed breed black lab dog (about 50 lbs). You will be our ninth live in nanny, our last one chose to extend for a year, so we understand what it takes to make this role successful and make sure that you have a great experience and a fun time as well. All of the women who have lived with us have become a part of our family and we look forward to the same for you. This is a great job for someone looking for an easy, fun family environment to help them transition to life after undergrad or grad school. We are looking for someone who will be proactive, accountable, trustworthy, neat, and generally take a real interest in the development of the girls and spend time with them having adventures in NYC and just generally having fun off screens. We are very respectful of your privacy and personal space and also do not police our nanny’s with a curfew because if we trust you with our children we believe you should be mature enough to manage your own time. We obviously do have a strict no hard drug use policy and will reserve the right to ask you to submit to a drug test while in our employment. We will do a background check and check references as a part of the offer process. Responsibilities: The schedule is structured around getting the girls up and prepped for school, collecting one of the girls from school and to an extracurricular, getting home, supporting them with homework and preparing and cleaning up with dinner. Other responsibilities during the day: • Walking the dog once in the middle of the day • Letting in service/ repairmen • Light tidying up around the house, emptying the dishwasher, putting dishes away • Keeping the laundry running Benefits: We will pay for an unlimited metrocard and put you on our phone plan as well as purchase anything you need to make your room comfortable and your own. We also have log-ins to all the major streaming services that we will happily share with you and access to high speed wifi. We also give you a credit card for incidentals, girls related expenses as well as access to our Uber account. We also have a great cleaning woman who comes weekly to help keep things tidy and cleans your room. Your room: Your room is basically like its own studio apartment with its own entrance to the street as well as an entrance through the house. You have a queen sized bed, a large closet, a dresser, a desk and chair and your own bathroom with a shower. It is very quiet and separate from the rest of the house. Your room also has its own full murphy bed and we’ve been happy to approve out of town guests on a case by case basis (like parents or friends!) so you can really enjoy your time in NYC! Comp: Comp for the role is $400 weekly a week paid in cash or via venmo with $15 an hour for overtime every hour over 40 hours. We do require that you have US work authorization. There are two paid weeks off plus paid time off any time the family travels/ is away that you are not working - such as the week btw Xmas and New Years. The role is structured so that you will be able to easily accommodate another remote internship or grad school applications or even virtual course work, however we do ask that we are your first priority for example in the instance that one of the children has to attend remote school due to an exposure event and we need support at home. Time off: We are very good at respecting and providing real down time for our nannies – we know how important it is to recharge. We often go to our lake house or other trips on weekends, so you will have the house to yourself. Calendar: The school year goes from September to the third week in June and we ask that you make a 12 month commitment for the role. Summers: Occasionally we go to our lake house in NJ in Sussex County for a few weeks in the summer. At the lake you will have your own room as well. If you would like to come back into the city on Friday afternoons weekends we can easily arrange that. Because of the focus on the lake and the amount of time we spend there – strong swimming is a must.
