WALTHAM, MA — A group of Bentley University students in the fraternity Sigma Chi have raised over $80,000 for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation by shaving their heads for various fundraising amounts at an event Monday night. The Huntsman Cancer Foundation is a National Cancer Institute–Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, which means it achieves the highest standards for cancer care and research, and has become one of the best cancer hospitals in the world since its founding in 1995. Sigma Chi members initially set a fundraising goal of $60,000 to help with the foundation's endeavors, with every single penny going directly towards cancer research. The students surpassed $80,000 on Tuesday, according to Sigma Chi senior Nathan Michalek. Sigma Chi's campaign for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation is still open and accepting donations.
