Press release from the Town of Norton: March 15, 2022 Are you interested in working in Biotechnology? Introducing MassBioEd's Biomanufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Program MassBioEd is providing a unique opportunity to people interested in a free, accelerated training program and a paid one-year life sciences apprenticeship at a biopharmaceutical company in Massachusetts. Registered Apprenticeships offer a pathway to full-time permanent employment. Candidates can visit MassBioEd.org/Students-Career-Seekers/Apprenticeships to submit a statement of interest form to be invited to an online information session. Have you always dreamed of working in the biotech industry? Do you pay close attention to detail and enjoy working with your hands? Would you be interested in receiving free training – including a training stipend – and a paid one-year full-time apprenticeship as a Biomanufacturing Technician? Consider applying to MassBioEd's Life Sciences Apprenticeship Program. A background in science is not required. We are looking for work-ready adults who are eager to learn and to use their skills to deliver lifesaving medicines to patients in need. Applicants need to be 18+ and HS graduates or equivalent. Critical thinking, good communication, and problem-solving skills will be important for the biomanufacturing technician role. Specific technical training will be provided by the program. Training for the apprentices will begin in the spring of 2022. The program includes 16 weeks (8 weeks online/remote & 8 weeks in person in masks/PPE) of intensive, accelerated part-time education through Northeastern University or WPI, a training stipend, and a year-long, full-time paid apprenticeship at a Massachusetts biotech firm starting later this year. Women, underrepresented people of color, veterans, and people who are unemployed or underemployed are especially encouraged to apply.
