'Fearlessly Chooses To Love': Woonsocket Local Hero

WOONSOCKET, RI — When times are tough, heroes emerge. But rarely do they get the spotlight they deserve. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times. Here at Patch, we've begun an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories. The submission comes from Gerard Lebrecque, who nominated nurse Lynn Lebrecque for her selfless dedication to her nursing home residents through the toughest days of the pandemic. "(She) had no choice but to be on the front line," Gerard Lebrecque said. "(She) gave up a lot of family and grandchildren time to comfort others. Some (of the residents) got better. Some passed in her hands. Now, as round two (of coronavirus) hits the nursing homes again, she fearlessly chooses love." Gerald Lebrecque concluded: "(She has) mercy, kindness and love — qualities that are so important during the suffering of many." Thank you for all you do, Lynn!
