MORRIS COUNTY, NJ - The latest update from state officials breaking down the impact of the new coronavirus, or COVID-19, pandemic in nursing home and long-term care facilities has shown an increase in infections and a rising death toll in Morris County. The state has a dashboard set up that tracks the number of cases statewide, including how many cases and fatalities involve long-term care facilities. The 1,179 cases are spread among the 41 impacted facilities. Last week, only 26 long-term care facilities had reported infections. There have been 272 deaths at these facilities as reported by the New Jersey Department of Health on Monday. Last week the report had 156. The largest outbreak in Morris County remains at the Lincoln Park Care Center. The report shows 163 cases, up from 116es were logged there and out of those there were 48 deaths, up from 29. According to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services records, the Lincoln Park Care Center carries an overall four star above average rating. The facility holds an average health inspection rating with lower citations than the New Jersey average and an average staffing rating. Their quality measures rating earned top marks with five stars. They were last fined $8,297 in March of 2019. Here are the facilities in Morris County that have patients positive for the coronavirus, followed by the deaths that have happened at those facilities. There have been 3,247 deaths at these facilities, with the most egregious case documented at the Andover Subacute & Rehab Center Two, where police removed 17 bodies from the facility last week.
