NOTTINGHAM, MD — Firefighters were called to a blaze inside the Target on Campbell Boulevard Wednesday morning, officials said.
A tarp on the ceiling caught fire, and the blaze was reportedly extinguished by those inside, the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported after 11:45 a.m.
Crews said they were helping to ventilate the building, which had "significant smoke." The Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company was summoned to assist with the ventilation.
Welding work on the roof was the cause of the fire, officials said.
Around 12:30 p.m., staff members who had evacuated to the parking lot were readmitted.
