MILWAUKEE, WI — A homeless outreach group in Milwaukee revealed new bus on Wednesday after fire a destroyed the old one. Street Angels, a non-profit, volunteer-based organization, unveiled a new shuttle Wednesday morning. The group drives to homeless communities in Milwaukee and offers supplies like food, water and clothes to people living on the street. "This is an organization that got kicked in the gut and needed some help," STRATTEC Security Corporation vice president Patrick Hansen said at a news conference. "We're glad to donate the money." "It has been a struggle, but we haven't skipped a beat," cofounder Eva Welch said at the news conference. When a bus was destroyed by a fire, the group traveled in their own personal cars to perform their services. "There are people out here that are waiting to eat, so we make sure we get there," Welch said. The group will protect their buses with security cameras and new lighting, Welch said. The Milwaukee Fire Department will also keep an eye on the buses. The Street Angels lost one bus and another was damaged by a fire in January. Welch said the fire was caused by a suspected arson.
