Press release from Epoch 5: March 30, 2022 The Port Jefferson-based group Hope House Ministries recently received an award for its commitment to the betterment of the Long Island community. The Jaspan Schlesinger Heart of Community Awards are being distributed as part of the law firm's 75th Anniversary celebration donating to 75 local non-for-profits. Hope House Ministries is a multi-faceted human service agency encompassing housing, counseling and educational assistance for individuals and families in crisis. Hope House and Fr. Pizzarelli have been trailblazers in the Long Island community in efforts to combat drug addiction, homelessness and suicide. Joined by a dedicated staff of social workers, occupational therapists, nurses, substance abuse counselors, private counselors, legal experts and volunteers, Fr. Pizzarelli's 12 programs now serve thousands of people each year. Hope House ensures that young people in crisis are provided safety, structure and counseling services to address the circumstances that led to their homelessness. Women and children are also afforded positive alternatives to abusive relationships, ex-offenders are given opportunities for a new lease on life, those experiencing mental illness return to healthy lifestyles and those living with addictions experience the freedom of recovery. Fr. Pizzarelli is a Montfort Missionary and Hope House Ministries is founded in the spirit of St. Louis de Montfort, who had a commitment to the poor. Marissa Pullano is a life-long parishioner at St. Louis de Montfort Church located in Sound Beach, New York where Fr. Frank is a Parish Assistant Priest.
