BBQ and silent auction to help to preserve a traditionally Native American Canoe Trail This event is hosted by Savannah Ogeechee Canal and Nature Center and Isabel Palacios, Ambassador Girl Scout. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the nature center and the location of the Native American Canoe trail project. Food and drink will be provided with the purchase of the ticket. This event will also host a silent auction with donations welcome from participants. The event will collect donations for the silent auction at Savannah Ogeechee Canal and Nature Center on April 24th, by 1pm. The silent auction will open at 2pm and close at 4pm. About the project for this fundraiser: This project will be preserving and marking a traditionally Native American canoe trail on the Savannah-Ogeechee Canal. The volunteers will also be installing signs along the trail that will have information about different pieces of Georgia wildlife and history of the canal. The project will also include constructing a boat rack for canoes and kayaks so that people will have access to the trail. The aims of this project in partnership with the the Savannah Ogeechee Canal and Nature Center is to: Provide opportunities for Girl Scouts and visitors to Savannah to experience history and ecology while spending time in the outdoors. By working with the Savannah Ogeechee Canal Nature Center to preserve a historically Native American canoe trail for the use of both Girl Scout troops and visitors.To provide a Girl Scout blazed trail in the birthplace of Girl Scouts.Additional ways to support this project: Project Sponsor levels $100 - Gets their name at the bottom of a small sign$200 - Gets their name at the bottom of a small sign and the plaque at the trailhead$500 - Gets their name on one of the larger informational signs as well as the plaque at the trailhead $1000 - Gets their name on the kayak rack, the opportunity to leave a message, and their name on plaque at the trailhead Or individuals can donate to the preservation of the trail.
