Description

Press release from the Nassau County Government: March 30, 2022 Matthew Bruderman, a top GOP donor and fundraiser, was recently caught on tape condoning 'good racism.' The County Executive is poised to install him as the NuHealth board's Chairman during a special April 1, 2022 meeting of the Legislature. (MINEOLA, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Kevan M. Abrahams (D – Freeport) and Legislators Siela A. Bynoe (D – Westbury), Carrié Solages (D – Lawrence), Debra Mulé (D – Freeport), Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove), Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) and Joshua Lafazan (D – Woodbury) issued the following statement regarding Matthew Bruderman, whom County Executive Blakeman is attempting to install as the Chairman of NuHealth: "First things first, Mr. Bruderman: There is no such thing as 'good racism' - period. Any person who condones 'good racism' is unfit for public service at any level. While that utterance alone should be disqualifying, it appears County Executive Blakeman will still attempt an end-run around the courts to force Mr. Bruderman onto NuHealth's board during a special meeting of the Legislature on Friday, April 1. The County Executive's brazen, unrelenting efforts to install this individual at the helm of NuHealth are yet another grotesque example of the arrogance that permeates his administration and a pattern of utter disdain for the courts, the rule of law, and the best interests of Nassau County residents." This press release was produced by the Nassau County Government. The views expressed here are the author's own.
