LONG BEACH, NY — While Jewish families will gather in a few weeks to recite the ancient exodus from Egypt, one synagogue is linking it to today.
A community Seder for Ukraine is scheduled for the second night of Passover.
Temple Emanu-El of Long Beach is holding a special holiday event to commemorate the annual celebration of the Jewish people, while also thinking about and raising funds for Ukraine, as millions of families were forced into their own exodus.
The Seder will be led by Rabbi Jack Zanerhaft and Cantor Lisa Kanter.
The cost, which includes a Passover-style dinner, is $30 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to feeding refugees from Ukraine, the synagogue said.
It will take place on Sat., April 16 at 6 p.m.
Reservations will be accepted until April 6 by calling 516-431-4060 Ext. 0
