LONG VALLEY, NJ - A 58-year-old Long Valley man is in jail facing multiple charges stemming from an altercation with a tow truck driver at his home on Sept. 21, according to the Washington Township Police Department.
According to authorities, Washington Township Officers responded to a Long Valley residence after a report that homeowner Salvatore Carfaro brandished a rifle after engaging in a verbal argument with tow truck operators.
Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and acquired possession of the rifle and after their investigation, which included witness statements, they arrested Carfaro and brought him to the Morris County Correctional Facility, police said.
Carfaro faces one count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, one count aggravated assault with a firearm, and one count of terroristic threats, police said. Carfaro is in jail pending court date Morris County Superior Court.
