LONG VALLEY, NJ - A Long Valley man was charged with driving while intoxicated after smashing his car into a parked car leaving the Valley Restaurant and Pub on Sept. 8, according to the Washington Township Police.
Washington Township Officers responded to the Valley Restaurant and Pub for the reported possible impaired driver who struck a parked vehicle upon leaving the establishment. Upon arriving to the scene, officers found Robert Sikorski's vehicle driving behind the Krauzers strip mall, police said.
While speaking with Sikorski, officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from inside the vehicle as well as observing several open containers of alcoholic beverages in the vehicle, police said.
Sikorski was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington Township Police Headquarters where he was charged with DWI, reckless driving, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container, and driving while suspended.
Sikorski was provided a mandatory court date to appear in the Washington Township Municipal Court and released to a responsible party who signed the Potential Liability Form, police said.
