Museum Of Historic Annapolis Hosts Grand Opening For New Exhibit

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Museum of Historic Annapolis held a grand-opening ceremony recently for its new exhibit about the state capital's history. The permanent display, named "Annapolis: An American Story," showcases more than 400 years of the city's history. The exhibit has been open for a few months, but the ribbon-cutting was on March 19. The ceremony included remarks from officials like: Gov. Larry HoganAnne Arundel County Executive Steuart PittmanMaryland District 30 State Sen. Sarah ElfrethAnnapolis Mayor Gavin BuckleyMaryland Historian Chris Haley "The State of Maryland was proud to strongly support this project," Hogan said in a press release, noting that he loves living in the city. "It is my hope that it will offer Marylanders and visitors from across the country the opportunity to rediscover our shared history and learn for themselves all that makes Annapolis so special." Hogan also gave a citation to Robert Clark at the event. Clark is the president and CEO of Historic Annapolis, which operates the museum. Gov. Larry Hogan)The Museum of Historic Annapolis spans three floors, highlighting noteworthy events and figures. The downtown museum is located at 99 Main Street. The facility is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Its Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $10. Tickets are $5 for children between ages 6 and 17. Passes are free for kids 5 and younger as well as Historic Annapolis members. There is a $25 family package for two adults and two or more children. Discounts are available at the door for residents 60 and up, AAA members, educators and active military personnel. Attendees can preregister at museum.annapolis.org.
