LONG VALLEY, NJ - A pair of Morgantown, West Virginia residents were charged with multiple weapons offenses after a run-in with Washington Township Police, authorities said. During a West Mill Road traffic stop on Sept. 30 O officers became suspicious of criminal activity and conducted a search of the vehicle where they located a handgun with a high capacity magazine and hollow point bullets, a THC cartridge, and drug paraphernalia, police said. Further investigation revealed the passenger, Brian Moats, 29, initially provided a false name to officers. Moats was found to have a nationwide extradition warrant issued out of West Virginia for a violation of parole, police said. The driver of the vehicle, Alexis King, 39, was also found to have an outstanding traffic warrant. Moats and King were arrested and transported to headquarters where they were processed. Traffic citations were issued for unlicensed driver and CDS in a motor vehicle Moats was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility while King was subsequently released pending appearances in Morris County Superior Court and Warren Township Municipal Court.
