Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans: Police are investigating after a shooting in Central City on Tuesday morning left one person dead and one person injured. NOPD responded to a call around 3:45 am at the intersection of South Derbingy and Josephine streets where they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The pair was transported to the hospital where one later died. (WDSU New Orleans) 'Lighthouses' in New Orleans? Nonprofits have envisioned solar-powered shelters for citizens to charge their phones, cool down or food distribution when electricity fails. (WDSU New Orleans) Two pre-teen girls are facing charges of aggravated second-degree battery after reportedly stabbing another young girl in New Orleans East on Sunday. There has been no update on the victim's condition.
