Hi! I'm a 25 year old woman who just moved from Wisconsin to Chicago, I've started a new relationship and he's perfect... except that he thinks I'm dumb. I thought it was a joke at first, but now it feels suspiciously true. I had a rough childhood and was never particularly good or interested at school so never continued on to college as it wasn't affordable. I've been successful in Wisconsin for a young woman: office manager, hotel manager, worked landscaping and food service and retail, I've worked for small businesses and huge internet companies; behavioral tech for children with autism. Everything I need to know I've learned on the job. Chicago I find is harder to break into as there's a million young people with college degrees. Literally a jack of all trades master of none with no passion for anything specific. I'm hoping maybe there's someone out there retiring or just in the mood to help and maybe apprentice me somewhere. I have enough savings to "work" a few months without income. I'd just like learn any transferrable work skills as I don't have faith in finding a good job that'll just take a chance on me.
