Here are the top three stories in Charleston today: The Charleston County School District (CCSD) is increasing its mental health initiatives for students and staff to include calming kits, calming rooms, and temporary hiring of mental health professionals. CCSD's mental health and wellness initiatives have served nearly 2,300 students so far in the 2021-22 school year, said Jennifer Coker, executive director of alternative programs and services for CCSD. "The staff calming rooms are really just a tranquil location for staff when they do have a break, to take a few minutes and just be in a quiet place where there's not a copy machine running or people coming in and out," Coker said of the staff calming room initiative. (Charleston Post Courier) Jazz Crawl Productions has announced the return of Jazz Crawl to Charleston after a four-year hiatus. The three-day event will feature performers and cultural artists from both New Orleans and the Charleston area. The festivities will begin with a launch party on Apr. 8 at Charleston City Night Market and the grand finale will feature a Second Line Parade for Charity on Sunday, Apr. 10.
