Press release from the St. Louis County Library: March 29, 2022 St. Louis County Library Foundation's Favorite Author Series presents acclaimed novelist Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney for a discussion and signing of "Good Company." The event will take place on Tuesday, April 5, at 7:00 p.m. at Library Headquarters, 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd. The program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event from Left Bank Books. Face masks will be required for all attendees. The event will be an onstage interview with HEC Media host Brenda Madden. Author of the instant New York Times bestseller "The Nest," Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney shares a warm, incisive new novel about the enduring bonds of marriage and friendship. Flora Mancini has been happily married for more than twenty years. But everything she thought she knew about herself, her marriage, and her relationship with her best friend, Margot, is upended when she stumbles upon an envelope containing her husband's wedding ring—the one he claimed he lost one summer when their daughter, Ruby, was five. Flora and Julian struggled for years, scraping together just enough acting work to raise Ruby in Manhattan and keep Julian's small theater company—Good Company—afloat. A move to Los Angeles brought their first real career successes, a chance to breathe easier, and a reunion with Margot, now a bona fide television star. But has their new life been built on lies? What happened that summer all those years ago? And what happens now? With Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney's signature tenderness, humor, and insight, "Good Company" tells a bighearted story of the lifelong relationships that both wound and heal us. CYNTHIA D'APRIX SWEENEY is the author of the instant New York Times bestselling novels "The Nest" and "Good Company." "The Nest" was a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writer's pick and named one of the best books of 2016 by People, the Washington Post, NPR, Amazon and others. Sweeney's work has been translated into more than 28 languages. "The Nest" has been optioned by AMC Studios and is in development as a limited series. Program sites are accessible. With at least two weeks' notice, accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities. Call 314-994-3300 or contact us. This press release was produced by the St. Louis County Library.
