Plane With Supplies For Ukrainian Refugees Departs Aurora Airport

AURORA, IL — A plane filled with more than two dozen duffel bags of much-needed supplies is departing Aurora Municipal Airport Tuesday morning. The cargo's final destination? Poland, where the supplies will help Ukrainian refugees who fled their war-torn country. The plane departed the airport, located in Sugar Grove, around 10:30 a.m. The King Air 350 airplane, operated by Revv Aviation, will head toward John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City. In New York, the supplies will be transferred onto an international flight bound for Poland. An airline that flies out of the Aurora airport, Revv Aviation — formerly known as Carver Aero — donated the use of one of the airplanes that was retrofitted to accommodate the supplies of the humanitarian delivery mission, according to Clayton Muhammad, Aurora's chief communications officer. The supplies being sent out were sourced locally, and Muhammad said members of the Aurora Sunrise Rotary Club helped collect part of the goods. Rene Koehler, of Oswego, also helped organize the effort, and she joined the team on the flight out of Sugar Grove Tuesday.
