BERKELEY, CA — A man was shot in the leg Saturday afternoon near a busy shopping area, Berkeleyside reports. The victim was hospitalized with injures that are not believed to be life-threatening, according to the report. Officers at around 2:50 p.m. responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Heinz Avenue and Ninth Street near the Berkeley Bowl West, the report said.
