SANTA MONICA, CA — All westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway were shut down at Fourth Street in Santa Monica Monday morning to direct traffic away from a fire hydrant hit by a car on Pacific Coast Highway, authorities said.
The gray Mazda 3 hit the hydrant at about 11:20 p.m. Sunday at Pacific Coast Highway and Fourth Street, according to the California Highway Patrol. It did not appear the driver was injured, the CHP said.
