Building a 60's Psych Band - Help Wanted

Meets

Description

I am building a 60's themed psychedelic band, including but not limited to rock, jazz, soul, blues, and pop. I'm 18, and thinking that auditions should be for ages 17-25. Older than 25 feel free to reach out still. Some inspirations that I think are most relevant include the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, The Electric Prunes, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and The Peppermint Trolley Company. My Goals: - Build a band that I can lead into success - Work up to frequent live gigs - Consistently write and record a healthy mix of originals and covers - Make 4 or 5 new best friends - Travel the world (eventually) - Gain a cult following (as a group, not a person) - Be able to afford an apartment What I Have: - Devotion - Intermediate or Expert level skill for guitar, bass, organ, piano, and drums - Audio production and sound knowledge - Tons of original material, ideas, and lyrics - Lots of love - Some high-energy philosophy I want to share with the world via tripped out tunes - Decent technical understanding of music theory What I Need: - Guitarist capable of trading off between lead and rhythm depending on the song - Drummer capable of keeping a steady beat and playing dynamically - Bass playing capable of grooving - Pianist capable of grinding the piano, organ, harpsichord, synthetic strings, or whatever other sound we need What You Need: - If you play guitar, bass, or piano, the ability to harmonize with up to three other people - Reliable transportation - Your own equipment (or at least a commitment to get some, I have plenty of stuff for practicing) - At least a little bit of intelligence - An open mind - Dedication - Maturity (most important) I need people who look the part. Style is part of the performance, and I intend to give unforgettable experiences on stage. Despite the tone of my listing, I'm not a controlling leader. However, I know exactly what I am looking for and will be very picky until I build the band I envision. I need a platform to have a voice in this world, as I have ideas I believe are valid and good enough to be shared with others. The world is on fire, and change is going to happen. I intend to be a part of this change. I know some others do too, so please come join me in my search for new possibilities. Send me a text, or give me a call at if you want to hear more. Just introduce yourself and tell me how you feel about this project. We'll figure it out from there. Here's to hoping that someone is as excited reading this as I was writing it. Best, Sean
