Role: There is a combination of talent we are seeking to be part of the Craneworks Team. As an Assistant Technicians they are expected to support the Navy and Marine Corps weight handling equipment program by safely and independently performing general labor, tasks up to the limits of their training certifications, continuously learning from more experienced personnel, and obtaining their positions’ required training certifications. Assistant Technicians are expected to support the work of Technicians and Senior Technicians. Assistant technicians are strongly encouraged to achieve additional certifications. Assistant technicians are expected to observe senior personnel perform work and are strongly encouraged to ask questions to facilitate rapid development towards becoming a fully qualified technician. Assistant technicians are expected to be courteous towards customers and be able to defer any questions outside of their qualifications to more senior personnel. Roles and Responsibilities • Safely perform work. • Inspect parts for damage or excessive wear • Assist in different task that are laid out by the Lead Technician • Maintain the integrity, safety, and reputation of the company. • Professionally represent yourself and communicate with customers. • Maintain accountability of assigned equipment and keep it in good working order. • Provide general labor in support of the weight handling program. • Learn from more senior personnel Job Requirements • Willing to travel to different states for extended periods of time • Clean background and driving record • Capable of working at elevated heights • Can lift more then 50LBS Training and Qualifications Training will be done on the job or online. It is not expected that the team member will have all the required skills when starting as an Assistant Technician. • General Crane Safety Course • Rigging practices • Fall protection training • Fork Lift operator’s license and hand-on training • Class A Commercial Driver’s License • OSHA 360/OSHA 30 • Lockout/tag-out procedure for the activities which you will work at including Navy LO/TO procedures • 60 hours of OJT demonstrating proficiency of the required qualifications Benenfits • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance • Disability Insurance • Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment • Retirement Plan – Simple IRA • Paid Time Off, Sick Leave and 11 Paid Holidays • Clothing Allowance Location Primary place of work will be NSWCCD Carderock Bethesda, MD 20817 Pay Scale $20-$25 per hour paid out weekly.
