We are looking for a reliable Handyman to undertake upkeep and repair tasks at the interior or exterior of company properties in Pittsfield, MA. We’ll rely on you to keep our properties in perfect condition by doing various odd jobs. Deft hands and technical knowledge are important parts of a handyman’s arsenal. You must be well-organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are valued greatly in this job. Job Description • Engage in a professional manner with property residents and owners. • General masonry, carpentry, electrical, painting, plaster, tile, and plumbing operations. • Making material lists, picking up purchased materials and installing them. • Install & repair doors, windows, screens, electrical fixtures, and appliances. • Exterior and interior painting. • Install and repair general plumbing equipment, such as sinks, toilets, and baths. • Property seasonal conditioning and maintenance of all common areas and equipment. • Repair, install and maintain recreation equipment, benches, tables, chairs, umbrellas, and grills. • Clean, maintain and repair boilers, pumps, heaters, pipelines valves, traps, and HVAC ventilation equipment. • General grounds maintenance activities and able to identify and note potential issues. • Clear snow from, and spread rock salt on sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots. • Rental turnover repairs & cleaning. • Move-out inspections. • Maintain simple property records and reports. • Work within and meet deadlines. • Inspect and make necessary repairs before Section 8 inspections. • Light groundskeeping. • Pressure washing. Job Requirements • Successful prior track record as a Handyman; estimation skills and prior experience, strongly preferred. • Available to communicate with office via phone, text or email and respond in quick manner. • Ability to perform work without supervision. • Own standard set of tools to perform all the above trades. • Possession of a valid NY or MA driver’s license is required at the time of appointment, which must be maintained throughout employment. • Emergency availability. You will be included in our on-call emergency hotline list. Though rare, you may need to visit apartments after hours. Additional compensation will be provided. • Residence within 25 miles of our Pittsfield, MA service area. • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Strong documentation and invoicing skills. • Must be available to work in on-call, after hours rotation and emergency availability. You will be included in our on-call emergency hotline list. Though rare, you may need to visit properties and apartments after hours. Additional compensation will be provided. • Must be capable of resolving maintenance issues in the field independently and quickly.
