Stolen sculptures by NM artist Richard Swenson

I am sad to report that we had three welded scrap metal sculptures by Los Alamos artist Richard Swenson stolen from the front porch of New Concept Gallery (610 Canyon Road) sometime between 5:15 PM Friday, 3/25 and Saturday morning, 3/26/2022. The pieces were secured with padlocks and chains, but it is clear that our thieves came prepared with bolt cutters. The “Jade Dragon” piece was over 7’ long and 4’ tall, weighing over 120 pounds, so I suspect we had two or three strong individuals with a pickup truck.
