Position: Mobile Field Tester (temporary 6-8 weeks / 40 hrs /week) Location: Geographical Information Center, 35 Main Street, Chico, CA. This position will require overnight travel throughout Northern and Central California. Compensation: $17.00 per hour. Job Description: Job duties include driving to predetermined locations across the state using an automotive GPS unit to navigate. At each location, the field tester will run a series of broadband performance tests using a set of cell phones for each major provider. Each of the cell phones has a specially designed testing application which you will run to test the availability of mobile broadband internet. Travel required Monday – Friday, staying in hotels and then returning home every Friday for the weekend. Testing (working) hours will be 8am to 5pm each day. A two-day training will be provided prior to travel which will cover GPS navigation, operation of the speed testing application and all completing travel paperwork. A rental car and all testing equipment needed will be provided. All expenses are paid, and advance check will be provided to cover expenses up front. Candidate must be 21+ years old, reside in and poses a valid CA drivers license.
