SMITHFIELD, RI — With the lifting of the state's stay-at-home order, and start of a phased-in reopening of the economy, many Smithfield businesses will begin the hopeful road back to success. While some found ways to stay open, and to offer delivery, pick-up and safe-distance transactions to serve the community over the past eight weeks, others will now be able to offer additional in-person sales and services, with restrictions. Last month, we put a call out to local businesses on Patch and asked them to update their status, to give details on how you can continue to patronize them and to let the community know how they can best help during these challenging times. If you own a local business and have not yet updated your status, or if you have yet to join the directory and want to let customers know you soon expect to be back in business, you can find a simple submission form here. We're going to keep this guide live throughout the public health emergency to help our readers support the businesses that serve Smithfield.
