Job Summary:
The Equipment Operator will operate heavy machinery for construction, demolition, or excavation projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Operates construction, excavation, hauling, and lubricating equipment including backhoes, skid steers, front-end loaders, bulldozers or excavators.
• Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
• Uses excavating machinery to dig holes and trenches used in structural concrete.
• Transports tools and other construction equipment to and from construction sites.
• Inspects and fuels vehicle prior to beginning shift.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs of equipment including greasing, cleaning of filters, fueling and cleaning of cab.
• Communicate any damage or maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
• Ability to read building plans related to structural concrete and land grades.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Two to Three years related experience and/or training required.
Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
• Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Valid Driver’s license with clean driving history, CDL a plus.
• Pre-Employment background check and drug screen required.
