NW Employment is partnered with a local Automation company in Wilsonville, and we are looking to add a Mechanical Assembler to our team!
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for the assembly of mechanical components of automation equipment per supplied mechanical drawings and the assembly of pneumatic components. The Mechanical Assembler collaborates with individuals and departments and should have basic written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and written instructions.
• Assemble parts or products:
o Assemble doors
• Perform basic measurements: Tape, scale, calipers, Metric, SAE, and conversion.
• Assemble light pneumatic components per pneumatic diagrams.
o Follow instructions for tube forming.
• Ensure quality, look for faulty components during the assembly process.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of pneumatic control.
• Documentation ability.
• Ability to interpret drawings and communicate accurate modifications and sketches to Lead Techs.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to perform from oral or handwritten instructions.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Good interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to use a pallet jack.
• Excellent understanding of safety, chemical use, and common shop practices.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
Education and Experience
• High school diploma/or equivalent are required for this position.
• Two to five years’ experience as a mechanical assembler with recent high tech mechanical assembly experience.
• One to two years of machine building experience is strongly desired.
