SMITHFIELD, RI — A 62-year-old Johnston woman was hit and killed on Interstate 295 North in Smithfield Monday evening, according to Rhode Island State Police. The victim, Lori Mollicone, was pronounced dead at the scene. Millicone was in the center lane of the highway near the George Washington Highway overpass when she was hit around 6:50 p.m., police said.
