I’m a gun owner, I’m also an Independent Progressive voter. When Samuel Colt introduced The Peacemaker in the 1860’s, it literally became just that! Any man could defend himself against anyone else, regardless of the size of his attacker. No one knew who was armed and the level of physical intimidation of others by bullies dropped dramatically! Decline in robbery and assault crimes coincided with the ability of citizens to arm themselves cheaply. One cost $12 to $17 then, which equates to about $325 today. I believe in anyone being able to Conceal Carry, no permit needed after initial qualification!! I believe anyone that wants one should have one, if you can pass the exam, but I also believe you should have to take extensive mandatory training before you’re allowed to put your hands on one! Gun Control = Hitting the Target, not an innocent bystander. I also believe you should have to be evaluated for stupidity, a serious mental disorder, and if you’re too stupid you shouldn’t be allowed to own one, or vote in any election! I further believe that you should have to have classes, during your mandatory attendance to early education, in civics, parenting, and money management. These classes would be taught to all students before they reach the age to leave school as a choice. Radical? Yeah, assisting the development of Common Sense is something desperately needed by the unwashed masses. Maybe then we wouldn’t have so many followers of a fascist huckster. When they make me King of the World a lotta shit’s gonna change! Just saying…
