Press release from the Waukee Community School District: December 11, 2020 When the Waukee School District temporarily moved to online learning, the nutrition team went to work. Six locations were setup across the district, providing Grab and Go meals to students and families. Meals were sent home for the weekend on Friday's pickup. Waukee provided more than 67,000 meals (breakfast and lunch) for students and families. "We think it's important, especially at this time, to provide children with the meals they need for learning," says Jeannie Allgood, Director of Nutrition Services at Waukee. "They are stressed out and we want to help them any way we can. Check out the video tab associated with this story for more on our Grab and Go program. Starting Monday, December 14, Grab and Go meals will be offered in the bus lane at Waukee High School, M-F, 10:30-1:15. This press release was produced by the Waukee Community School District.
