Description
Join us for a showcase of local independent short films -- including the premiere of two new short films from director Cole Smith. Welcome to the Spring 2022 version of the short film showcase at Kimball's in downtown Colorado Springs! On Wednesday April 20th, we will screen 10 short films in Colorado Springs! The 10th and final film is the premiere of Bird Poop Fish, the latest animated short film from local writer/director Cole Smith. The screening will take place at Kimball's movie theater, a beautiful independent movie theater in downtown Colorado Springs. We'll also show the premiere of Barber's Blues, a short documentary on local barber and musician, Mike Nelson, directed by Garrett Creamer and Cole Smith. This screening is also a fundraiser. We still have a few post production costs for the animated film (voice over recording and animation). If you are able to join us, 100% of the ticket proceeds will go to covering the remaining cost of the film as well as paying the other filmmakers for their work. If you are unable to join us but want to make a financial donation to Cole's work, you can still do that! Go ahead and checkout as if you are planning to buy a ticket. Make sure to select "0" for the quantity. Then, you'll have the option to make a donation to the event. These donations will go straight to Cole and his film work! Doors will open at 6:30pm and we will begin promptly at 7:00. Please plan to be in seats by 6:45. We will screen the following films: Barber's Blues - Directed by Garrett Creamer and Cole Smith Blue Bags Float in Saltwater - Directed by Jordan Anstatt Expecting - Directed by Cole Smith Welcome to God's Country - Directed by Cole Smith The Hole - Directed by Louis Lagayette Doublespeak - Directed by Hazel Mckibbin Lovely Day - Directed by Cole Smith Bird Poop Fish - Directed by Cole Smith
